Playtech as taken steps toward promoting an inclusive culture within the company, the gaming industry, and the wider community by signing up for the All-in Diversity Project. The move was in keeping with the online casino provider’s Sustainable Success global sustainability strategy, which aims to grow the business in a way that impacts individuals and communities in positive ways.
The project is a non-profit with a mission to help businesses and industries to strive for greater diversity, inclusion, and equality. As such, the project offers data, tools, guidance, and support that allow businesses to incorporate those values into successful strategies.
Other project members from the online casino industry include Betsson, Caesars, Entain, Flutter, Gaming Innovation Group, IGT, Kindred Group, Lottoland, Microgaming, Scientific Games, and SiS.
Fostering Inclusive Culture
Playtech chief operating officer Shimon Akad said that the provider hopes to create a company culture that is truly inclusive in the hope of attracting and retaining talented workers who will develop not only their skills but their careers also. He added that the company was happy to partner with the project as a means of encouraging and supporting diversity and inclusion within the company and the online casino sector.
Akad explained that it was not enough for the company to be one of the industry’s top online casino technology providers. He also measures the company’s success in terms of the role it plays in helping build an industry that is commercially viable, sustainable, and that puts entertainment first.
According to Akad, the provider’s partnering with the project will provide the company with support in its efforts to work toward greater inclusivity. He also expects it to help speed up the company’s progress when it comes to diversity.
Project Welcomes Playtech
All-in Diversity Project co-founder Kelly Kehn welcomed Playtech to the initiative, and she said that the provider’s timing was perfect. She added that the support of recognised industry leaders was essential if the project was serious about making changes that are impactful. Kehn also said that she looked forward to working with the online casino provider.
Kehn co-founded the project with Christina Thakor-Rankin in 2017 with the vision of creating tools that the global industry can use to further diversity, inclusion, and workplace equality. In addition to hosting events, producing industry whitepapers, and offering toolkits, the project also focuses on collecting data, measuring, and benchmarking progress in an annual report called the All-Index.
